Several "Quick Analysis" models have been developed by Apex Cogen to aid early screening of cogeneration opportunities, and to graphically illustrate potential energy savings. Once set up for a particular project, they can be provided to a client with input cells unlocked for internal input and analysis.
Scenario modeling. Apex Cogen's proprietary detailed financial model allows equipment outputs (electricity and thermal energy) and fuel consumption to vary depending on ambient temperature, an important consideration for modeling extremes of cold or heat, and seasonal variations in income. Once a financial model has been established and tested for particular project, hundreds of input variables, including heat balance software results, can easily be input for scenario modeling to determine project risk and sensitivities.
Apex Cogen's detailed financial model output has been standardized in a one page project summary sheet that displays all key financial ratios. A number of graphs are automatically produced to clearly illustrate the project outputs, returns, and risks.
